Where to stay in Uluwatu? The best locations.

Uluwatu is a fairly widespread area in the south of Bali. Some hotels here have access to private beaches, some are close to beautiful beaches, and some are cliff-top hotels that you may need to transport yourself to a beach. Of course, you can also stay further inland, but accommodation on the beach, or near the amazing beaches, is definitely our first choice.

Although Uluwatu is a great place to stay in Bali, the main thing to keep in mind is that it can be quite isolated and in most areas, you’ll either have to do a lot of walking or need some sort of transport to get to a cafe, beach or club. beach. With this in mind, particularly for the under $200 category, I tried to keep my options around the bingin, balangan and padang padang area. The Padang Padang area has the most cafes in one place, particularly along Jalan Labuan Sait, making this the best place to stay in Uluwatu if you don’t have your own transport. Please note that this is a long and hilly road, so obviously the closer the accommodation is to the end of the beach, the easier it is to walk to the beach if you do not have transport.

So when deciding on accommodation in Uluwatu, in order to access beautiful public beaches, the best areas would be those near Bingin, Balangan and Padang Padang Beach. For access to beautiful private beaches or beach clubs, our pick would be Ungasan Clifftop Resort and Bulgari Resort Bali.

How many days do you need in Uluwatu?

We recommend at least 2-4 nights, but you could also spend much longer and have a really relaxing vacation. The beauty of Uluwatu is how laid back it is, and you really can’t experience that in just one night.

Two nights is fine if that’s all you have time for, or if you just want to see what it’s like. But four nights is a great way to spend the day on the beautiful beaches of this area, eating at the delicious cafes, spending the day at a beach club and exploring the area. When deciding how long you will stay in Uluwatu, keep in mind that you will need your own transportation or arrange private transportation.
