With one exciting sustainability collaboration after another, the award-winning resort is back with yet another extraordinary partnership!

The Apurva Kempinski Bali is teaming up with an esteemed artist, Ari Bayuaji, to present Weaving the Ocean: Pieces of Hope, an innovative program focusing on artistic brilliance and environmental consciousness.

Ari Bayuaji is an internationally acclaimed Indonesian artist who developed a deep love for the ocean from an early age. His stunning artwork revolves around the theme “Weaving the Ocean,” skillfully portraying the harmony of marine ecosystems and the interconnectedness of all living beings.

Ari’s work highlights the urgent need to protect our oceans and their diverse ecosystems. He creatively uses discarded fishing nets, ropes, and other marine debris from local coastal communities and fishermen to capture marine life’s ethereal beauty and delicate nature.

Together with The Apurva Kempinski Bali, a leading advocate for the environment, an awesome art installation is displayed at the heart of the iconic Koral restaurant. The installation is all about sustainable artistry and raising awareness for marine conservation.

The art installation features a traditional loom and upcycled fabrics from strings of yarn woven with shredded plastics. Every element is carefully picked to reduce its impact on the environment. Also, guests are invited to the transformative journey and help turn raw materials into a thought-provoking work of art!

Moreover, guests can get an exclusive opportunity to work on handcrafted corals made of plastic. Which you’ll then get to tie them with a string of plastic thread on the loom, adding a personal touch to the vibrant masterpiece taking shape as the frame fills with strings.

The main goal of this interactive experience is to spark hope, nurture a greater appreciation for the intricate connection between art, nature, and craftsmanship, as well as emphasize the significance of sustainability and eco-consciousness.

Both The Apurva Kempinski Bali and Ari Bayuaji are thrilled to embark on this collaboration with the hope of positively impacting the environment and society.

Are you ready to join the sustainable movement, celebrate the harmony of art and nature, and weave a brighter future together?
