After signing a management agreement, Kempinski Hotels is pleased to share the addition of another luxury gem to its Southeast Asia portfolio. The new Kempinski resort will open on the emerald slopes of Ubud, Bali as The Apurva Kempinski Ubud.

Following the successful opening of The Apurva Kempinski Bali in 2019, The Apurva Kempinski Ubud, Bali will be the brand’s latest hospitality project, as well as its second Balinese property in partnership with PT. Panorama Indah Dewata.

The new luxury resort reflects Kempinski Hotels’ commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality experiences in the world’s most beautiful destinations, according to Bernold Schroeder, CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of Kempinski Group.

The Apurva Kempinski Ubud will be situated on a south-facing ridge, with magnificent views of the lush greenery in central Bali. Rudy Dodo of Jakarta-based studio Trivium Design Group will also lead the interior and architectural design of the resort, as well as his sister property in Nusa Dua.

With 160 rooms and villas tucked amid lush jungle-clad slopes, the resort will feature an open lobby lounge where guests can immerse themselves in Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage. Accommodations range from spacious rooms and suites starting at 60 square meters to stunning Cliff Villas with panoramic views, outdoor terraces, and private plunge pools that blend seamlessly with nature. In addition, there are six spectacular forest villas spanning 200 square meters.

Guests will be able to enjoy picturesque surroundings from a sparkling infinity pool, while the rooftop lounge and bar offer the perfect place to enjoy mesmerizing jungle sunsets. In addition, the resort’s specialty restaurant will offer guests extraordinary Indonesian cuisine while savoring the natural wonder of Ubud.

The Apurva Kempinski Ubud will offer a new level of relaxation. It features a Balinese spa haven where guests can embark on a journey of rejuvenating treatments and wellness journeys. Located at the end of the ridge, the spa exudes a serene atmosphere, complemented by the stunning view of the verdant valley.

At the center of the complex, a tropical aviary will provide sanctuary for a veritable collection of exotic birds from Indonesia and beyond, including the endangered Bali mynah, also known as Jalak.

“Over the past five years, we have worked with Kempinski to bring new standards of luxury.

hospitality to Indonesia, building a collection of remarkable properties infused with the essence

of Indonesian culture,” says Grace Katuari, executive director of PT. Teluk Agung Alami.

“Kempinski brings a wealth of operating experience and a touch of European elegance to our

properties. We look forward to taking the next steps in this exciting project together.”

Scheduled to open in 2027, The Apurva Kempinski Ubud will become Kempinski’s second resort in Bali, following the successful opening of The Apurva Kempinski Bali in 2019. Additionally, it will be Kempinski’s third management deal, following last year’s announcement of The Apurva Kempinski Lombok, also set to open in 2027.
