Grand Hyatt Bali prides itself as the jewel in the crown of Nusa Dua resorts, with 636 rooms and suites, a water palace, and gardens and lagoons. Grand Hyatt Bali is the perfect place for both business and pleasure, with many leisure activities, but also 24 different meeting rooms in various sizes, all ready to host a business meeting. But Grand Hyatt Bali is not only focused on being a first-class resort, it also takes responsibility for making Bali a better place. That’s why they just hosted their second canoe fundraiser with The Hyatt Canoe Race 2.0.

On May 6, 2023, 130 participants gathered to test their canoeing skills against each other. The exhilarating race started at the Hyatt Regency on Sanur beach and participants traversed 13km through sand, wind and waves in 2 hours to reach the coast of Nusa Dua where an epic grand finale awaited them.

Once the brave participants rowed to Nusa Dua, they were welcomed to The Grand Hyatt Bali for a spectacular grand finale to the event. With a huge brunch buffet, live music, silent and blind auctions, a community market, and tons of prizes for participants, it made for another memorable edition of The Hyatt Canoe Race.

The event was a huge success and all money raised went towards supporting women in need and raising environmental awareness. Thanks to their efforts and the incredible support of everyone who participated in the event, The Grand Hyatt Bali was able to raise over IDR 1 billion. All money raised will go to two of the ROLE foundation skill centers. Firstly The Bali WISE, an educational skill for young and marginalized Indonesian women and secondly The ZeroWaste Center which provides eco knowledge and waste management training for locals in Bali.

The vision of the ROLE foundation is to empower individuals, businesses and local governments so that they can develop sustainable communities and empower marginalized women and integrate them back into the economy through empowerment. The ROLE foundation also aims to embed zero waste principles through comprehensive waste management training. Thanks to this event organized by Grand Hyatt Bali and all the participants, the ROLE foundation can continue to provide the education and empowerment needed to make Bali a better place!
