Bali, has been at the forefront of this initiative. The island offers a plethora of village destinations, each with its unique charm and attractions.
Tourists can indulge in various activities, from traditional dance performances to handicraft workshops, providing them with a deep insight into the Balinese way of life.
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga conveyed the Indonesian Government’s commitment to consistently support quality and sustainable tourism activities, as well as empowering local communities and communities through the development of Tourism Villages throughout Indonesia. “The tourism transformation that Indonesia is trying to carry out is how tourism can have a positive effect on local communities in various regions, with one of the locomotives being the development of Tourism Villages through programs such as the Indonesian Tourism Village Award.”
In addition, the Minister is also trying to continue to advance green tourism initiatives, through a number of programs that have received appreciation from the public, especially among Indonesia’s young generation. “Such as CHSE certification, carbon emission reduction and food loss and food waste programs,”
He added that the transformational steps taken intensively by Indonesia and the world have brought about a shift in the global tourism paradigm today and in the future. It is believed that world tourism will ultimately not only stop at the sustainability paradigm, but will go beyond that through the emergence of a regenerative tourism model that will improve and rejuvenate the environment.
On this occasion the Minister was accompanied by the Deputy for Marketing of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Ni Made Ayu Marthini and the Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Japan and the Federation of Micronesia, John Tjahjanto Bustami.
Ni Made Ayu Marthini explained that the TEJ Ministerial Round Table is an annual sub-event held as part of the series of Tourism Expo Japan (TEJ), one of the largest international tourism exhibition exchanges in Japan. “This sub-event is a discussion forum and knowledge sharing between global tourism industry stakeholders, including the Minister of Tourism from several invited countries and international tourism associations, to be able to share, discuss and dialogue constructively to advance the global tourism industry,” she stated.
