The Marriott Business Council Bali presents “Road To Give 2023,” which will take place at Peninsula ITDC, Nusa Dua, Bali, on Saturday, 21 October 2023, starting at 6 am. This charity run invites associates, guests, and running communities to support charitable organizations and aims to gather more than 4,000 Marriott International associates, affiliates, and athletes from the island!
“Road To Give” is part of Marriott International’s ‘TakeCare’ movement, aligning with the hospitality company’s new “Be” People Brand and brand pillars to empower associates to become the best version of themselves.
Kemaryani Anom, Director of Human Resources of Courtyard by Marriott Bali Seminyak Resort and Chairman of ‘Road To Give Bali 2023’ says, “We are thrilled to hold this yearly event by encouraging our associates and the public to carry out several movements in different ways to support local organisations in our community following one of the company’s core values, which is ‘Serve Our World.’”
She added, “In this year’s event, we will be contributing to Scholars of Sustenance – a local organisation that focuses on reducing food waste by collecting nutritious surplus food from restaurants across Bali and redistributing it to those in need.”
Scholars of Sustenance is an international non-profit organization with social and environmental projects in Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
“Scholars of Sustenance is serving three things; The land, the people, and the spirit. We are not only helping people, but also helping the communities while being environmentally conscious in our works, all can only be realised with strong global partnerships and cooperation,” says Bo Holmgreen – CEO & Founder of Scholars of Sustenance.
For this year’s event, 26 Marriott Bonvoy’s Portfolio of Hotels and Resorts in Bali will unite to raise funds for Scholars of Sustenance (S.O.S). Additionally, the funds raised will assist Marriott International associates affected by fires in Maui, Hawaii.
The collaboration between Road To Give 2023 and S.O.S is set to encourage a sense of responsibility and empowerment, as well as a commitment to reducing food waste and advocating for fair access to food.
Above all, this initiative aligns with the global pursuit of Sustainable Development Goals, including Zero Hunger, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, and Partnerships for The Goals.
