Jimbaran Puri invites you to celebrate Nyepi Day through artistic and cultural collaboration with Marmar Herayukti, a Balinese artist specializing in the creation of Ogoh-ogoh with eco-friendly materials.

As an inspiration and role model for the young Balinese generations, the artist will share his knowledge about the sacred rituals of Nyepi and Ogoh-ogoh, and will also highlight the importance of using eco-friendly materials.

Made of pulp, glue and bamboo, the large Ogoh-ogoh statue reflects the human understanding of the power of the universe, and its creation is based on Balinese Hinduism. Not only can guests learn about the creation process, but a magnificent Ogoh-ogoh will also be on display at the resort all the way to Nyepi.

In addition, guests will see Ogoh-ogoh paintings by the resort’s in-house talents displayed in the lobby and Tunjung Restaurant from March 20-24, 2023.

On the night before Nyepi, you can witness the Pengrupukan ritual, a ceremony to cleanse and drive out Bhuta Kala, a representation of evil spirits in Hindu mythology, which involves throwing rice and offerings for annual blessings.

Combining tranquil experiences by the endless ocean and pristine white sands with local art, Jimbaran Puri, A Belmond Hotel, is a truly unique Nyepi getaway.
